Violet Moraa- CEO
Agricultural Economist | Development Strategist | Women & Youth Empowerment Advocate
I’m Violet Moraa, a passionate Agricultural Economist with a Master’s degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the University of Pretoria. My academic journey and professional experiences have fueled my commitment to driving inclusive, evidence-based development across Africa.
As an alumna of the prestigious African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) program and a proud member of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE) and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), I have been deeply inspired to champion sustainable solutions for women and youth in agriculture.
I founded the Global Capacity Building Center (GCBC) to empower communities—especially women and young people—by building resilience and promoting economic development through agriculture. At GCBC, we focus on innovative, grassroots-driven strategies that tackle food security, gender equality, clean energy, and climate action.
With a strong background in research and development, I’ve supported multi-sectoral projects by generating actionable insights for policy and programming. My expertise spans climate change adaptation, food systems transformation, and the integration of climate information services to uplift marginalized communities.
Looking ahead, I aspire to become a leading public policy specialist—applying behavioral economics and global best practices to shape transformative policies in regions that need them most.
