Clean energy
At GCBC we promote clean energy through two main ways: Parabolic cookers and eco friendly cook stoves
1. Parabolic cookers
Our Innovations Team has developed a simple yet effective parabolic cooker using locally sourced materials. This innovative cooker harnesses solar energy to provide a sustainable and eco-friendly cooking solution. The design is cost-effective, making it accessible to the wider community. By utilizing local materials, we not only support the local economy but also ensure the availability and affordability of this clean energy technology. This parabolic cooker exemplifies our commitment to promoting renewable energy and reducing reliance on traditional, less sustainable cooking methods. The first prototype of the parabolic cooker is being tested . We look forward to multiplying the prototype and rolling it out to community members once the testing is complete..

2. Eco friendly cook stoves
To promote clean energy, GCBC collaborates with women to provide clean cook stoves. This initiative reduces the time spent gathering firewood and minimizes deforestation. We achieve this through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), where women contribute funds to support each other. Each month, a new cook stove is installed for one member of the community.
